Saquon Barkley won NFL Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 2,005 yards, becoming just the ninth player in NFL history to crack the 2,000-yard mark on the ground. All in all, it was a historic season for the Eagles, maybe the best ever.
But that’s in the past, and has been for some time. They’ve told anyone who will listen that they’re not the defending champs. They’re not defending anything at all. The mindset is one of a reset, with a slate wiped clean and 32 NFL teams all starting from the same position to reach the pinnacle in 2026, and hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

The Eagles made five trades on draft night, with the most notable being moving up one spot from 32 to 31 in order to select Jihaad Campbell. They only gave up a fifth-round pick (164) in 2025 to make the move. Three of the remaining four trades came on Day 3 of the draft.
