What’s the old adage? If it’s not flipping a car into a fountain one day, it’s injuries the next?
Something like that.
Mets manager Terry Collins is upset with the number of injuries his club has suffered in spring training. via Andy Martino of the NY Daily News, after Collins learned that Ruben Tejada would miss today’s game with a "left groin strain":
“It’s not serious. It doesn’t have to be here. You need an aspirin, you’re off for a day.”
Then, asked how hard it was to deal with the mounting injuries, Collins said:
“We’ve got three weeks from Wednesday, we’ve got a lot of time. I’m just getting tired of going in the training room, where I’ve got to sweat to see who can walk out of there.”
Martino added that Collins seemed “fired up,” and didn’t appear to be joking.
Ladies and gentlemen, the 2012 New York Mets: because it hurts, Mom!
