Asante Samuel Launches Preemptive Strike on Front Office

Someone needs to shut Asante Samuel up. Andy Reid tried – Samuel said Big Red put a gag order on him – but his tactics didn’t work.

Yesterday, Samuel told Shady McCoy that “shit ain’t right.”

Today, just two days after Reid’s supposed gag order, Samuel went all Vince Young at a strip club when talking about Joe Banner and Howie Roseman: [the quotes via Philly.com, Grilled Reuben Frank, and Tim McManus]

“I think there’s a little power struggle around here."

"Sucks doesn't it? At the trade deadline for your name to just be flying around, and you're supposed to be the leader of the team?"

Really, cuz? Just shut up and play.

Is he wanted?

"By Andy. A couple people upstairs might not want me, but who cares. They probably never played football. It's a business, they run it like a business, so they're going to do what they need to do. So they're upstairs playing with a lot of money, playing a little fantasy football, so they’re doing their thing."

Oh holy shit. Player-front office skirmish. These always end well. I don’t know much about Banner, but I wouldn’t want to fight Roseman, he looks like a shifty son of a bitch.

Somewhere (probably right in front of Asante), Les Bowen is punching Jeff McLane's head in an uncontrolled bout of euphoria.
