DraftKings Sportsbook Officially Launches in Pennsylvania

DraftKings Sportsbook PA has officially launched in Pennsylvania.
Following three days of testing by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, DraftKings’ sports betting app is now available to all players in the state.
Users who already have the DraftKings Sportsbook app on their phone don’t have to download a new app– unlike some of its competitors, DraftKings offers one betting app available across multiple states. That includes New Jersey, West Virginia, Indiana, and now Pennsylvania.

How To Sign Up
If you already have the DraftKings Sportsbook app on your phone, you don’t have to do anything. Just open it and start playing. A geolocation tool will confirm that you are located in PA and you’ll be all set.
If you’re a new DraftKings customer or current DFS player, you can register for DraftKings Sportsbook here to claim a $200 first bet match and an up to $500 deposit bonus. The latter is available to all players, but the $200 bet match is available only through select online channels, including this one.
A Big Market
Looked upon with skepticism for some time by gaming operators due to its high tax rates, Pennsylvania is the largest legal online betting market so far in the United States. With a population of roughly 12 million people, two major professional sports cities, and Penn State, PA offers a sports market like few other states.
DraftKings had been eying an entry into the market, but it wasn’t until a sweeping deal with Penn National Gaming granted DraftKings a casino partner in PA, Meadows Casino, that a path became clear. You’ll see branding for Meadows inside the app in PA.
DraftKings already has a large database of players in Pennsylvania thanks to years of operating as a daily fantasy app.
But since they’re coming somewhat late to the sports betting party, behind FanDuel Sportsbook PA and FOX Bet PA, DraftKings Sportsbook PA will look to get very promotional early on. Expect to see a torrent on advertising across TV, radio, and digital (DraftKings is a CB advertiser).
Since betting on local teams has been so popular in New Jersey and Indiana, you can expect to see many Eagles and Steelers promotions and boosts in PA.
