DraftKings Casino Launching Friday in PA

DraftKings Casino is coming to PA. The online gaming giant has received permission from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board at their April hearing today to go ahead and begin the three-day soft launch phase, with a target go live date of May 1.

Joining a relatively small group of online casino sites in Pennsylvania, DraftKings is set up for success in Pennsylvania.

DraftKings PA Casino Launch

Already available in New Jersey, DraftKings’ casino lives inside its sportsbook app. While in New Jersey it is one of nearly 20 online casinos, DraftKings will be one of only a handful of casino apps in PA, and immediately perhaps the best of the bunch.

More than any other iGaming operator, DraftKings has been aggressive in pursuing new business opportunities and offering new products and features. They were first to market with a legal online sportsbook when they launched in August of 2018.

And they have not looked back.

In the year since, they’ve launched that same sportsbook in Pennsylvania, Indiana, West Virginia and, this week, will launch in Colorado.

Late last year they launched their online casino in New Jersey with a promise to bring it to other states that allowed real money iGaming.

Online Casino Growth

The move into Pennsylvania comes at a time when online casino gaming is seeing a surge in popularity due to so many traditional casinogoers being stuck at home.

Interest in online casinos has as much as quadrupled over the last six to eight weeks, if Google Trends are to be believed.

So far in Pennsylvania, only a handful of casino apps are available. Those include our previous top pick, Unibet, along with DraftKings’ rival, FanDuel Casino.

But DraftKings brings a unique twist.

Whereas many of the other apps focus on their current casino customer base and a deep heavy focus on slots, DraftKings knows that there’s a wider market for online gambling. So though they do offer all of the slots you might expect to see, they also offer a robust set of table games, including blackjack, roulette and baccarat.

In New Jersey DraftKings online casino offers live dealer blackjack in their own custom branded studios, meaning players are treated to an experience that is branded by DraftKings and has a decidedly younger and more modern feel than some other casinos.

Live dealer games are not yet available in Pennsylvania, but you can be sure that DraftKings Casino will look to bring that to PA once it is.

For now we expect DraftKings to be the best of the bunch in PA.
