Eating Crow: Now Serving Eliot Shorr-Parks
By Kyle Scott
Published:
We will be serving crow today. I already had my helping this morning, but now, it’s time for the rest of the local media to eat theirs as the Flyers, led by their captain, have pulled themselves from the depths to earn a playoff spot. Long before our friend Eliot Shorr-Parks was breaking the biggest sports story of the year, he was skewering Claude Giroux.
Flyers Hold Team Meeting After Loss to Devils, Claude Giroux Ditches Media, November 7:
One by one the Flyers players said they think the meeting will be a good thing. All the players besides the captain, that is.
Claude Giroux, who still does not have a goal this season, refused to speak with the media after the game. You can debate how important his message to the media would have been, or if it should be required. There is no debate, however, that having your teammates face the media while you refuse to is not exactly great leadership.
The Flyers will see just how effective the player’s only meeting was this Saturday when they take on the Edmonton Oilers.
If they struggle again, especially at home, serious changes could be coming– whether Giroux wants to talk about it or not.
Delicious.
This kid laughs at you, Eliot:
