Howard Eskin, who’s had several Twitter boners over the past few weeks, tweeted late last night that Gus Bradley will be coming to Philly today, perhaps to finalize a deal with the Eagles.

Eskin, aggregated:

"[Head coach] situation is crazy. Source just told me Gus Bradley coming to Phila to finalize deal. Think Eagles could have coach in 24 hrs. Crazy. Think Eagles [head coach] could obviously have come down to Whisenhut and Bradley. Nothing done but source: finalizing deal with Bradley. [We’ll see.] Tuesday could be BIG sports day in Phila. Maybe new Eagles [head coach] by end of day and maybe Giroux as new Flyers. Two BIG stories. [Maybe.]"

See, I don’t get why naming a new captain is such a big deal. Sure, it’d be an honor for Giroux, and that C looks pretty nice on his sweater… but with the way the media has been treating it this past week, you would think that G was going to be knighted or something. Plus, being captain didn’t end so well for the last few guys (well…).

Back to the Eagles: Eskin originally had Reid buying a house in Arizona… and we know how that worked out. So we’ll take this with a grain of salt for now. But Gus Bradley, a defensive guy, may be your Eagles coach by the end of the day.

  1. First two years as Seattle DC they ranked 25th, and 27th, in overall defense. I have a feeling we will be mediocre for a while. Let’s see who we hire as coordinators.

  2. Why do you have to be hating on hockey?!?! Just leave that part of the story out. It was an Eagles’ story and after the lead graph you wasted a graph saying something silly about Roo and hockey. Just leave that out next time, as it sounded silly and out of place. Thank you for the update on Bradley though.

  3. bill belichick, bill parcels. jimmy johnson and some others I dont feel like thinking of started under 500 their first 2 or 3 years.
the problem is all of you fucks will call this guy a fraud if the eagles start 2-3, and have him run out of town by season 3.. then he will go on to be a good coach, and then everyone will complain that they let him go.
    #cantwait!

  4. Yeah, because we have a history in this town of running Eagles’ head coaches out of town in their first three seasons…

I’d rather billick over this clown

  7. I like this signing (IF IT HAPPENS)
Id still prefer either coordinator from San Fran, but somehow while interviewing the entire league they missed both of them
    NO LOVE,

  8. Eskin should be delivering the news – in a truck. Terrible…..

  9. I’ll wait for the official announcement before I get all hot and bothered.

  10. San Fran’s DC isn’t even taking HC interviews

  11. “Source just told me”
    Source = Reuben Frank

  12. Wait a second. Yesterday nobody wanted to work for Roseman. Today we have a coach? Maybe stop printing speculation planted by agents from spurned candidates (or Donovan Mcnabb) Kyle? Used to think you were better than the hacks on WIP. Guess not.

  13. ESKIN ESKIN ESKIN,, too funny.. obviously Banner and Reid were his Eagles inside ‘sources’ and he now will actually have to work for a living.
Poor Lurie.. he has to decide whether he wants to give Eskin some info or suffer with his wrath.
Eskin probably is at the airport waiting for Bradley with flowers.
Oh boy.. you mean he Flyers may name a CAPTAIN today??? Let’s have a parade. Wait, they haven’t won a Cup since Ford was president.. no parades.

  14. looking forward to a defensive minded coach who will run the f’in ball!
although, i have to admit Gus’ defense vs Atlanta in the final seconds is worrisome. but, i still like him if this is happens. hopefully he had something to do with seattle’s drafting recently b/c they have founds some gems on the defensive side!

  15. It’s also the same Howard Eskin who reported Andrew Bynum was damaged goods, when the rest of the city was at The Constitution Center playing pocket ball.

  16. Give us a body bag game the first year and pound the rock.

  17. fantastic publish, very informative. I wonder why the other experts of this sector
don’t realize this. You must proceed your writing.
I am sure, you’ve a huge readers’ base already!
