A friendly reminder that this isn’t 2017 anymore. Things have changed and the Eagles have a target on their back. And not everything is great.

That being said, the Eagles shot themselves in the foot multiple times, especially on the last drive of the game, en route to a 26-23 overtime loss to former future Eagle Marcus Mariota and the Titans.

Things suck right now. Injuries, Jalen Mills, penalties, whatever. This team is experiencing their first taste of life after being on top of the world. And now with Minnesota coming into town on Sunday, they have a much larger target on their back. And nobody is going to let up.

Kevin will have more on this game later this morning, but saying that the Eagles won the Super Bowl last year to cure this team’s struggles is foolish. This team isn’t settling for moderation.

Cue Gerald Ford:

The Phillies season is over. They won a series for the first time in quite some time, and it happened against a Braves team that was getting ready for the postseason.

The Phils got crushed Friday night 10-2, but Jerad Eickhoff started for the first time in about two years. He finished with eight strikeouts and two runs off five hits in 3 1/3 innings. But things were different in the last two games with the team shutting out the Braves 3-0 on Saturday (Gritty showed up, so I guess that’s the team’s good luck charm) and ending the season with a 3-1 win. The team ends the season with an 80-82 record and overall a better season than they had in the past few years, despite the collapse at the end.

They’ll have the 14th pick in the 2019 MLB Draft but now comes the possibility of changes. We’ll see what happens later in the fall and winter.

The Sixers returned to action in a 104-84 preseason win over Melbourne United. The team looked fine, and we saw a little bit of Markelle Fultz’s jumpshot. It looks a lot better than it did last year, but I think there’s still plenty of work to be done.

The preseason continues tonight at home as the team takes on the Orlando Magic at 7 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia. After that, they’ll head over to China for the Shanghai and Shenzhen games and play the Dallas Mavericks twice.

The team’s G-League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers, unveiled a cool Joel Embiid bobblehead promotion for their home opener.

Speaking of preseason, the Flyers wrapped up their test run with a 4-1 win over the Bruins on Saturday. Michael Raffl scored twice.

The team also made three more moves to trim their roster, including sending goalie Carter Hart down to Lehigh Valley. That wasn’t a shocker. The Flyers have 29 players on their roster and five guys are currently hurt.

The regular season starts Thursday night in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights.

The Union and the Columbus Crew were involved in a scoreless tie Saturday night. They’ll host Minnesota United FC next Saturday.

Temple football fell to Boston College 45-35 in Chestnut Hill. The Owls will take on East Carolina next weekend in AAC play.

Frank Reich gambled big on fourth down in overtime against the Texans. That resulted in a Colts loss.

In preseason basketball, Jahlil Okafor had a highlight dunk over Wendell Carter in the Pelicans-Bulls game. Then…

Per Woj, he got an X-ray after the game on that ankle and will get an MRI on Monday.
