Sportsbooks in Pennsylvania and New Jersey are offering a bunch of significant odds boosts on the Eagles today. We outlined in our Eagles-Vikings betting preview why the Birds might not be a great bet, but is there enough value to take them outright or +3.5 now that the line has moved past the all-important three-point margin?
It’s no secret local sportsbooks – both physical and online – take significant action on the Eagles as the public loves to back the home team. They routinely offer up specials on the Birds, and today there are some of the best we’ve seen this season.
SugarHouse Sportsbook in both PA and NJ is offering the Birds at a special odds boost of +300 today. That is boosted from +150. A 2x multiplier on an outright win.
The +150 odds implies the Eagles have a 40% chance of winning the game. Boosting that all the way up to +300 prices them as having an only 25% chance to win. This is a solid four-to-one payout on an otherwise evenly matched game
FiveThirtyEight.com projects the Eagles as only being a 1.5-point underdog and having a 45% chance to win. Clearly there’s value on both the original line and the boosted option here. Consider, home teams are typically offered three points by bookmakers as a “home field advantage,” so FiveThirtyEight actually feels the Eagles are the better team.
The offer is available to both new and current players to SugarHouse. The max bet is $25. New users also get a $250 deposit match, which is one of the best signup bonuses in the sports betting industry.
Borgata Sports in New Jersey is offering a rather crazy $100 if the Eagles score at all.
Yes, that’s right. Borgata is known for their rather crazy odds boosts in New Jersey and this one is no different.
The offer is available to new players only. You must sign up here, deposit, and place a $1 moneyline bet on the Eagles.
This is, in effect, a $100 signup bonus, but it’s still the closest thing to free money you can get. If the Birds get shut out, you, as an Eagles fan, have a lot bigger problems than the $1.
You can get an Eagles (+3.5), Redskins (-4.5), and Saints (+2.5) parlay boosted from +565 to +600. I don’t particularly like any of these bets for reasons, but it’s there if you want it. You can also get the Eagles or Bengals to win at -105.
Should You Take The Birds?
I’m always a little wary when you see a no-brainer boost like doubling moneyline odds on a short line. Why? SugarHouse, which has fallen behind FanDuel Sportsbook PA and FOX Bet in Pennsylvania, is undoubtedly trying to create some buzz behind their product, especially with a new sportsbook opening:
first NFL sunday for the new sportsbook @WinAtSugarHouse … MUCH roomier than the previous spot, but the odds boards are tough to see; so definitely get their app; 21 kiosks… on sundays, the book opens at 8a, the bar at 11a … they had the eagles +3.5 (at -120) pic.twitter.com/2o1eIOUyjT

But they’ll risk quite a bit of exposure (even with a $25 max bet) if the Eagles win.
Kirk Cousins has substantial weapons in the RECENTLY UNLOCKED Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs, and Dalvin Cook, all playing against a lackluster Eagles secondary.
More, the line has moved up from 3 to 3.5, a significant shift off the all-important field goal win. The public is not surprisingly backing the Eagles, but the money is reportedly on the Vikings. Not a great sign.
Still, the Eagles are probably worth +300 on a $25 bet.
