Eagles vs. Giants Line: Birds Finally Favored Again
By Bob Wankel
Published:

Despite a valiant comeback attempt last Sunday, the Eagles are now 1-4-1 and embark upon a pair of must-win division games that begin with the Giants on Thursday night. The injury-ravaged Eagles will need to find a way to piece things together on a short week against a New York squad coming off its first win.
The Eagles vs. Giants Week 7 line is currently set at Eagles -3.5. The over under is 44. The Eagles are a –200 moneyline favorite, while the Giants are a +163 moneyline underdog.

After three consecutive weeks as a substantial underdog – marking the first time this century the Eagles had been a seven-point or more underdog three times in any season – they now find themselves as a 3.5-point favorite. This, despite the fact they finished last Sunday’s game missing 9 of 11 offensive starters. Needless to say, this line speaks volumes about the state of the Giants.
Here is the current line, odds, spread, and total for Eagles vs. Giants on the PA online sports betting market as of [current_date format=’F j, Y g:i A’].
Eagles vs. Giants Week 7 Line
Here is the current Eagles vs. Giants line.
Best Available Odds by Sportsbook
[metabet_core_game_tile query=”nfl/eagles” site_id=”crossingbroad”]Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Giants | +3.5 (-110) | +163 | 44 (-110) |
Eagles | -3.5 (-110) | -200 | 44 (-110) |
Spread
Note: The line opened at Eagles -6, but following the news that Zach Ertz and Miles Sanders will both miss Thursday night’s game, it quickly moved to Eagles -3.5.
Despite winning only once in their first six games, the Eagles are a 3.5 favorite over the Giants in Week 7. The Giants frequently find themselves in games, but New York has also consistently found ways to lose. Second-year starting quarterback Daniel Jones has really struggled. Frankly, neither of these teams is very good. Still, the Eagles have dominated the head-to-head series in recent years. They also have the superior quarterback, and they’re at home. That’s enough for oddsmakers here.
After covering as a 10-point underdog last week, the Eagles are now 2-4 ATS. Despite earning their first win in Week 6, the Giants failed to cover the 2.5-point spread and are now 3-3 ATS.
If the spread holds, it would represent the most points the Eagles have been favored by this season.
Moneyline
The above news about Ertz and Sanders moved the moneyline from -278 all the way down to -200. Meanwhile, the Giants moved from +220 to +163.
The Eagles moneyline is priced -200 at DraftKings Sportsbook, while the Giants are listed at +163. It will be interesting to see how things progress throughout the week. Will bettors back the home team, expecting a division favorite to finally wake up? Or will they see value in the underdog Giants against a totally depleted (and underachieving) Philly squad?
Total
The over-under for the Eagles vs. Giants opened at 44 points. The Eagles offense has posted a combined 57 points the last two weeks, easily helping the push the number over the total in both games. The Giants, meanwhile, are coming off a 20-19 win over Washington in which the score stayed under the total.
So far this season, the over is 4-2 in Eagles games. It is 2-4 in Giants games.
Where Is The Money Going?
The early money at reporting sportsbooks is flowing toward Philly with 85% of spread bets backing the Birds. In terms of the total, bettors are on the over early. A staggering 89% of all bets are backing points.
