Scoring is down across the NBA.

The Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks took that trend to an extreme on Sunday night in a 79-73 contest in which the Knicks scored the fewest points of any team in the NBA this season.

Sunday’s atrocious offensive display pushed the over/under for Tuesday’s game to 208.5. If you’re a PA sports betting or NJ sports betting Sixers regular, you’ll notice it’s the lowest total set for a Sixers game this season. It’s also tied for the second-lowest total for a Knicks game.

That statistic isn’t too surprising when you consider the Sixers are the third-best team to the over in the NBA, but even they have been bitten by the defense bug going around the association.

The Sixers and Knicks are two of the top 10 teams to the under since the All-Star break, when the overall unders trend began:

The Knicks are the key to the under hitting again on Tuesday. They scored 100 points or less in four of their last six games. They have very little offense outside of Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo because of the injuries to OG Anunoby and Julius Randle. Anunoby is listed as questionable on Tuesday to return from a weeks-long injury absence.

Four of the last six Sixers games had both teams eclipse the 100-point mark. There’s a better chance of the Sixers getting back to the century mark on Tuesday with Tyrese Maxey returning to the lineup.

Maxey produced 35 and 27 points in his two meetings with the Knicks this season. Maxey’s point prop is set at 25.5 at FanDuel and DraftKings.

Betting anyone’s points prop after Sunday may be a stressful experience for anyone.

Rebounds should be the prop to target for both squads. We’re all aware of how the Sixers have been torn apart by opposing big men since Joel Embiid went out injured.

Josh Hart, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Precious Achiuwa all had at least nine rebounds for the Knicks on Sunday. Zion Williamson, Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson Jr., Jake LaRavia, and Nic Claxton all had at least 10 rebounds against the Sixers last week.

Hartenstein’s rebound prop sits at 7.5, while Hart is listed at 9.5. Achiuwa’s minutes will be affected by whether or not Anunoby returns on Tuesday.

If Maxey and Anunoby both return, we should get a better offensive game because two scorers are back on the floor, not to mention it’s very, very hard to replicate a 79-73 game in today’s NBA.

The under shouldn’t be out of the question, but just remember before you bet it, it is far lower than most Sixers games this season, and therefore your margin of error is much smaller.
