Boston Dopes Beat Out Jon Marks, Ike Reese, and Mikey Miss in Fugazi Industry Poll

Barrett Sports Media is running out the results of their annual industry poll this week.
On Tuesday, Angelo Cataldi finished 3rd and John Kincade finished 12th in “major market sports talk radio morning shows,” which was voted on by a panel of 46 radio executives from various companies.
Those same corporate suits submitted their selections for top afternoon show, and the top ten looked like this:
- Felger and Mazz (Boston)
- Michael Kay (New York)
- Carton and Roberts (New York)
- Mike Valenti and Rico Beard (Detroit)
- Parkins and Spiegel (Chicago)
- Marks and Reese (Philly)
- The Hardline (Dallas)
- three guys from San Francisco I’ve never heard of
- Waddle and Silvy (Chicago)
- Mikey Miss (Philly)
Couple of thoughts here:
First, what disrespect shown towards Mike Missanelli, who is the OUTRIGHT leader in sports talk. He should be ranked higher.
Second, Marks and Reese is just as good as those top five shows. Jon can pretty much carry any show and Ike I honestly don’t think gets enough credit. He’s really settled in as a quality P.M. drive radio host after starting his career as a sidekick of sorts who had transitioned to media following retirement. Marks and Reese has a lot of chemistry and is a good show; they just need to boot Mad Mike and Ingy and Chuck from Mount Airy and Angry Al off the show permanently. Whenever Angry Al calls in says “Jonnnnnnnny Marks,” I immediately change the channel.
Finally, if Felger and Mazz is the best major market afternoon show in sports talk radio, then industry executives are smoking the crack that El Wingador (allegedly) had in his RV. Felger is the jabroni who went off on Roy Halladay after he died, then later apologized. Same hosts who threw a shit fit over Cam Newton coming to the Patriots, because they didn’t like his celebrations. And when the Pats first decided to bring Newton back, the one guy was almost in tears talking about it.
