Howard Eskin did an interview with Barrett Sports Media. It’s pretty good. He ribs Angelo Cataldi a little bit in response to Angelo’s comments about “The King” not being a team player.

However, I will choose this passage to highlight:

BN:[Laughs] What do you think about the word retirement?

HE: People say are you going to retire? Or when are you going to retire? I says (sic) if you can spell that word for me because I can’t spell it, maybe I’ll think about it. But I can’t spell that word. When people say retire, no. What, do you think I should retire? No, no, no. I’ll tell you the joy that I have, there is a belief in radio that older people don’t get younger people who listen to them. That’s such BS because when people come up to me, because I’m at a lot of games, I’m in the public a lot, people come up hey man, I listen to you. If you’re good, or what you do is interesting and they think it’s good, then that’s all that matters to me.

Good thing The King is not retiring, because he plays a vital role in this market. Who else is going to ask the HARD HITTING questions? Who else will ask Gabe Kapler about coconut oil masturbation? Who else is going to mock Joel Embiid and call him a cry baby? Who else will suggest that the Eagles pursue Deshaun Watson? Who else will go after the fake news local meterologists and then get slapped down by Cecily Tynan?

We need Howard Eskin in this market. He asks the tough questions. He goes to all the games! He’s the hardest working man in Philadelphia! blah blah, etc
