A good series win over a potential wild card contender.

Donning their beautiful throwback baby blue uniforms, the Phillies took their three-game series over the Giants with a 10-2 blowout win. All 10 of the team’s runs came between the second and fifth innings.

Cesar Hernandez and J.T. Realmuto each recorded 3 RBI, with Realmuto delivering a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth that caused Kevin Pillar to lose his glove trying to rob the hit.

Jake Arrieta was effective, but he didn’t go that long. He went four innings and allowed two runs off four hits with five strikeouts on 71 pitches. He got pulled after allowing the Giants’ first run off a Brandon Belt single. Jose Alvarez finished the inning and also got credited with the win.

The weekend has arrived and so has Phillies Alumni Weekend. The team will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2009 NL Championship squad and will also induct Bobby Abreu into their Wall of Fame. The White Sox will be their opponent this weekend, beginning tonight at 7:05 PM on NBC 10. Jason Vargas will make his Phillies debut against Ivan Nova. Aaron Nola and Drew Smyly will also take the mound this weekend.

The Sixers unveiled their sharp Classic Edition uniforms yesterday. I’m a fan, and every team should have a retro jersey in their collection each year. Take the Grizzlies for example:

Someone bet more than $100k on the Sixers making the playoffs.
