By trading up to number eight, the Eagles can do just about anything they want in this year’s NFL draft. Almost. But that might not be enough for Howie, who’s still trying to knock the offseason out of the park.

The Eagles could move up to the second overall pick in the draft to take ND State QB Carson Wentz, who looks like the guy Kendra wishes she hadn’t let record her, if one anonymous NFL exec is to be believed:

“Don’t be surprised if a team like the Eagles makes a really strong move up the board to get (Carson) Wentz. I don’t think he’s worth it, but I think they do. Everyone thinks you have to move ahead of Cleveland, but (Browns Chief Strategy Officer Paul DePodesta) will want to get as many picks as possible out of this draft. It wouldn’t surprise me if a team moved directly to Cleveland’s spot for Wentz.”

Robert Klemko at MMQB even said the Birds could trade up to number one.

There’s always reason to believe the Browns will take a QB in the first round*, so they are probably the team whose spot you have to take. And CBS Sports’ Will Brinson argues the Eagles’ current QB situation is actually evidence they should trade up:

Teams will be interested in Wentz, obviously. It’s impossible to know how high or how low certain teams are on certain prospects. The Eagles have Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel, which, well, is an argument for Wentz actually.

It’s not as wild an idea as last year’s Sal Pal-driven #DoTheDeal, and if the Eagles don’t believe Bradford or Daniel to be their franchise QB of the future (likely), what better time to move up than now? Howie hasn’t been this full of piss and vinegar since he touched a breasteses for the first time [editor’s note: reported to be two years ago at a bachelor party in Vegas], and he’s only one deal away from going full Howard Dean on us. “We’re going to number eight, and number two … EEEAAAAHAHHHH.”

*“There’s always reason to believe the Browns will take a QB in the first round” is one of the oldest recorded sentences in the English language.

UPDATE: The Browns are in on RG3, but that probably won’t affect their draft because they’re the Browns and who knows what the hell they’re doing.
