I flipped on WIP Monday and they were asking if the Eagles should trade for Micah Parsons. Surely someone at an Audacy sister station said something to spark the whole thing, and sure enough:

This is a classic ESPN story arc. One of their reporters says something like, “I’m hearing the Cleveland Browns texted Tom Brady’s agent to see if he was interested in having sushi.” Then they spend the next 24 hours asking if Brady would be a good fit in Cleveland. They cover it on First Take, NFL Live, Around the Horn, and Pardon the Interruption. You create your own news and then report on it.

Now, I’m not saying “Shan Sharrif” is full of shit. His sources could be totally accurate. We don’t source shame at Crossing Broad unless you’re Josina Anderson. But even then, the thought of the Cowboys trading Micah Parsons to the Philadelphia Eagles is totally comical. “Yeah sure, we’re gonna send you our best player!” Jerry Jones would willingly submit to a paternity test before trading Parsons. Why? Because Parsons is a top 6, top 8 type of defensive player. A three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All Pro. The Cowboys would be stupid to trade him anywhere, let alone a division rival. This would be like Dallas radio asking if the Cowboys should make an offer for A.J. Brown after listening to his phone call with Jack Fritz and Ike Reese.

Plus, we don’t need to trade for Micah because he will come here in free agency:
