It was a 14-10 ballgame on Sunday afternoon when Miles Sanders fumbled the football and Carson Wentz brought down A’Shawn Robinson at the Detroit 49-yard line.

On the first play of the ensuing Lions drive, J.D. McKissic took a reverse 44 yards to the Eagles’ seven-yard line, and one of the reasons for the big gain is because the Eagles only had ten defenders on the field, which Brian Baldinger noticed when watching the film:

Baldy:

Where’s the defensive end? Where’s Barnett or Curry or Sweat or somebody? They lined up in a 10-man defense here. Nobody recognizes that there’s 10 men on the field? Nobody? … Where is he? Is he getting a Gatorade? Is he hurt? Did nobody give the signal?

Welp… that’s not great. Eagles running the ole’ 3-3-4 defense there. Baldy has a great point though; even if the coaches didn’t see it from the sideline, surely the defensive tackle or the weakside linebacker should have realized that something was wrong.

Anyway, let’s hope that doesn’t happen again on Thursday night.
