Marcus Morris Apologizes After Describing Opponent as “Womanlike” with “Female Tendencies”

Andy Marlin-USA TODAY Sports

Rough night for Philadelphia native Marcus Morris.

His Knicks fell to 13-36 after getting clobbered by Memphis at home, losing by 21 points as disgruntled fans called for James Dolan to sell the team.

In the dying moments of the game, the Grizzlies’ Jae Crowder took a corner three pointer while his team was winning big, which resulted in Elfrid Payton shoving him to the ground, then a small melee broke out. A brouhaha, if you will. After the game, Morris then came out and basically called Crowder a woman with these comments:

As you can imagine, those comments didn’t sit well.

He apologized later:

Long season in New York.

  1. Marcus Morris is a feisty, defensive-minded stretch 4(with an expiring contract), who (unlike Mike Scott) can make outside shots with regularity, as well as play lockdown defense at the 4 position…

Trade sg Josh Richardson and backup pf Mike Scott for this man ASAP!

  2. Oh… today we care about women’s feelings? Sure didn’t care for how women felt after Kobe died.

  3. Anybody hear woke nat egg’s strange me too rant sticking up for Kobe Bryant in his r@pe incident

  4. what if the dude just says, I said what I said and I’m not apologizing for anything?

  5. He shoulda just said that he has ‘the opposite of toxic male’ tendencies.
