Observation here from BLG at Bleeding Green Nation:

Miles Sanders played his lowest snap count percentage of the season at 40% even. His previous low was 50.9% and that came when the Eagles pulled their starters against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sanders’ 12 carries went for 61 yards (5.1 average). It’s fair to wonder why the coaching staff didn’t do a better job of getting him more involved on the ground. Then again, he was wearing a knee brace and might not have been able to handle a much larger workload.

Boston Scott ran the ball twice and Kenneth Gainwell got zero carries, so it’s not like they went away from Sanders to give the ball to other dudes. They also did not have Jalen Hurts for the RPO and zone read game, so when you take those two items and combine them with the fact that the Birds got crushed in time of possession in the first half, it comes out to a box score 32/14 pass/run ratio, with a single Gardner Minshew read in there as well and a bunch of sacks that contribute to the skew.

We know they can’t run the same offense without Hurts on the field, and only the Eagles know how banged up Sanders was, but they couldn’t/didn’t establish the ground game on Sunday and it resulted in the offense looking one-dimensional while Gardner Minshew struggled.

Flush it and move on to the next one. Hopefully Sanders is good to go for week 18 and the postseason, because this remains a career-year for him. He’s been a big piece for this offense.
