Is Philadelphia the epicenter of boats right now?

Between the largest ship to ever dock in Philadelphia singlehandedly infusing the city’s economy and Boathouse Row being lit back up for the first time in a year, Philly is on fire! The times were tough. The Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers all collapsed in the last year but that’s before the largest ship Philly has ever seen was sitting in the Delaware. Times they are a changing, folks. I just know soon the roads will be fixed, our favorite sports teams will win titles, SEPTA will operate on time, and every other problem in this city will go away because of these two major events. Inspiring.

I mean look at this thing:

It’s Friday, we’re just having fun!

But seriously make sure to tell your wife her Amazon package is here:

Here’s some more from 6ABC.com:

The largest container ship to ever call port along the East Coast arrived in Philadelphia and docked at the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal Friday.

The ship, named Marco Polo, can carry more than 16,000 containers.

Because it can carry so much stuff, it will bring an economic boom to the city, including up to 600 jobs and generating up to $81 million a year.

Standing up, the Marco Polo would be longer than the Comcast Center, which is Philadelphia’s tallest building.

My favorite thing is when local news compares the length of something our simple minds can comprehend. It’s longer than the Comcast Center! It’s the equivalent of 40,000 Dollar Dogs! 15,000 bullet riddled SEPTA busses! You know, fun comparisons like that.

Largest vessel ever ever in Philadelphia? I thought that was connected to Joel Embiid:
