At last check, veteran sports talk radio host Tony Bruno said he was calling it quits.

That’s what he more or less wrote in a September Twitter thread, explaining that he’d “walk away from this amazing ride of a career” following the cancellation of his SiriusXM and Sports Map Radio gigs. Tony’s show was removed from those platforms after publication of Deadspin story that criticized him for inappropriate comments made about LeBron James and NBA players.

Bruno hasn’t done a show in the fourth months since, though he Tweeted this week that he’ll be hosting a Super Bowl pregame steam on something called the “No Filter Network” –

I’ve never heard of this platform, but at the official site it’s explained thusly:

No Filter Network is an interactive virtual venue where Hosts can use Real Time Streaming to connect with viewers from around the world. With fully integrated ticket sales you can schedule your show, set your price and market yourself to the world wide web. Find anything from alternative sports commentary, live comedy, watch parties, instructionals and so much more. If you can do it in front of a camera, you can do it on No Filter Network!

Bruno’s stream is called the PRE BIG GAME FUN SHOW and will go live at 5 p.m., one hour before the Chiefs/Bucs kickoff. You pay $5 to join and have to purchase a virtual “ticket” on the show’s page.

As you know, Bruno was running his own podcast after leaving 94 WIP, and then re-started his show with Harry Mayes, who was hosting middays on 97.3 ESPN with Eytan Shander before the reunion. Mayes linked back up with Shander after Bruno’s showed was axed.

We shared the full video clips of the controversial comments in our original story, dating back to September 4th, so you can go back and listen those passages in full. We were told at the time that lawyers were involved, though Crossing Broad sources have now gone silent on this matter. If blips appear on the radar screen, we will investigate the signals appropriately.
