Birds fans traveled cross-country and pissed off Chargers fans by invading their place. It not only made it enjoyable for the road team, but also may have added fuel to the fire for the crowd that wants to move the Chargers back to San Diego already, as Sports Illustrated writes:

Chargers owner Dean Spanos couldn’t wait to high-tail it out of San Diego and this is what he gets. And, of course, Roger Goodell and the league were there to support the move. Now they all have a full-fledged problem on their hands, because the scene at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., yesterday was embarrassing and sad.

3. I don’t get it

The Eagles “left guard by committee” thing continues.

Stefan Wisniewski started the game, then ended up splitting time again with Chance Warmack. From that point on, it looked like they switched every two series, but I’m not really sure what the logic is behind the move. Wisniewski was playing fine as the Eagles took a 10-0 lead on their first two drives.

Many would say Carson Wentz had a good game on Sunday, potentially his best as an Eagle, but according to Pro Football Focus he did as well as DeShone Kizer, who led his team to 31-7 loss.

Doug Pederson probably liked Wentz’s performance on Sunday. Here’s the coach’s post-game locker room speech:

Wentz certainly got help from a good rushing attack, led by LeGarrette Blount, which is one of Sean Cottrell’s “Three and Out” topics.

Former Eagle and current crybaby DeSean Jackson is already unhappy in Tampa Bay after his emotions boiled over on the sidelines Sunday. Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter is okay with Jackson being upset:

“We tried to get it to him, and I mean, we’ve talked about how Jameis and Cam (Brate) were clicking; how Jameis and Adam (Humphries) were clicking; how Jameis and Mike (Evans) are always clicking. We even got O.J. (Howard) on track today.

“But with DeSean, we just couldn’t get it to him other than a couple of short ones. We either flat out missed him a couple times or we didn’t see him. So DeSean has every right to be frustrated and we have to get him involved more because he’s a dynamic playmaker.’’

The Sixers wrapped up training camp and open up preseason action tomorrow against the Memphis Grizzlies. Kevin, who will be covering the Sixers beat this season for CB, compiled some notes on the team.

Joel Embiid is still not cleared for 5 on 5 basketball, but has been seen running around town.

The Phillies are officially in the off-season, and lost in the finale’s offensive outburst was the fact that it was also the final game for Chris Wheeler. “Wheels” was with the team for 47 years in various capacities.

Now that the games are done, the biggest question surrounding the Phils is finding a new manager. Matt Breen of Philly.com pondered if it could be Dusty Wathan, who piloted the Reading Fightins two years ago and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs this past season:

“The Phillies will use this month to find the manager they hope will be at the helm of their next contending team. Wathan is in the mix. And rightfully so. The final months of the season seemed to reveal the core of that contending team. It was Wathan who helped get those pieces there. Perhaps he also will be the one who helps them contend.”

Whoever becomes the next manager, let’s hope he can take the team back to days like this:
